Rasputin Zerone, Vistani guide and sword-for-hire, is an impressive figure
that stands 6 feet, 2 inches tall. Well-muscled and athletically built, he has olive skin with wavy, black, shoulder-length
hair and piercing black eyes. Rasputin wears a silver hoop earring in his left ear and is clean-shaven, though the shadow
of a heavy beard can usually be seen on his face, adding to his rugged charm. This tall, dark and handsome gypsy, charming
as he is mysterious, has a deep love of music and is a gifted singer and dancer. Outgoing and gregarious, Rasputin has no
problem making acquaintances, but acquaintances they remain, for he has no "true" friends that are not of Vistani blood. He
is as stout of heart as he is of body and loves a good fight though he is not afraid to cut his losses and flee when the situation
warrants. He has a fondness for "tinto" (pronounced "teen-toe"), a rich, full-bodied red wine that has a fruity sweetness,
as well as the Vistani favorite "aniso", a licorice-flavored liqueur made from aniseed. He wears a sleeveless, studded
leather tunic, dark brown in color, over a bright red silk shirt and plain leather pants. Studded leather gloves, forearm
length, adorn his large hands; his feet are shod in tall, studded leather boots with hard soles. A bright red silk sash, embroidered
with strange symbols, is worn under his belt, off of which a well-crafted longsword in a tooled leather scabbard hangs. A
flintlock pistol, loaded with a ball of silver, is stuck in the front of his belt and the hilts of two matching daggers can
be seen protruding from the top of each of his boots.

Dr. Rudolph Van Richten
Dr. Van Richten is a middle aged man, small and thin. His short white hair is sparse but well groomed.
He is meticulously neat. He grins with only one side of his mouth and usually has a hopeful, lively sparkle in his eyes.
Originally a native of Darkon, Van Richten was a doctor who healed without magic. He had little skill as a surgeon,
relying more on herbal medicines. Dr. Van Richten is wise and well educated, and knows much about supernatural lore.
Several books have been published by him and released throughout the domains. Van Richten has become the
foremost authority on the supernatural.
Since the death of his son, Van Richten has hunted vampires and other supernatural creatures throughout Ravenloft.
He has never attempted to destroy the lord of any domain. When not actively in pursuit of a creature, he runs a "Herbalist's
Shop" in Mordentshire. Van Richten will not allow an innocent person to be hurt, perhaps even if it means
sacrificing himself. Fortunately, he has not faced this fatal decision to date.
